NEBOSH Exams

If you have already achieved the:
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate (Paper A1), or
  • A pass in a NEBOSH Part 1 or Part 2 Diploma, or
  • A pass in Unit A Of the NEBOSH National Diploma

Within the last five years you will be exempt from Unit NGC1 but you will have to sit Paper FC1 and complete the Practical Assessment (FC2).

Each Paper A1 and FC1 is a two hour exam.

Pay attention to "action verbs" in the questions......................

DEFINE = provide an accepted definition

STATE = a lesser form of define

SKETCH = provide a simple drawing using labels

EXPLAIN = give a clear account of

DESCRIBE = give a word picture

OUTLINE = give the most important features of

LIST = provide a list without explanations

GIVE = provide without explanation, e.g. give an example of

IDENTIFY = select and name

Some other questions could start with "what", "when", "how" etc, with these give your own explanations.

Practical Assessments

The time allocated for the practical assessment is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
