Classification of Fires.

Class A Extinguishers - will put out fires in ordinary combustibles, such as wood, paper and plastics.

Class B Extinguishers - should be used on fires involving flammable liquids, such as petrol, paint, fat, wax etc.

Class C Extinguishers - are suitable for use on natural gas, acetylene, etc

Class D Extinguishers - are designed for use on flammable metals.

Class F Extinguishers - are designed for use on cooking fats and oils.

Electrical Hazard Extinguishers - are used on electrical equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines and computers.
